
Crime and fear of crime affects every member of our society. In 1998, Parliament passed the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 gives Local Authorities, the Police and other key partners new responsibilities for the prevention of Crime and Disorder. The two key issues of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 are Local Community Involvement and Delivering Safer Communities, the delivery of which involves the development of proactive strategies to tackle local Crime and Disorder issues
