Sirius7's Online Mapper is a cross-platform, web-based thematic mapping system, which runs in any major web browser against current and live data. It is an easy-to-use product for users who may feel excluded from presently available desktop mapping applications due to their complexity.
Online Mapper runs from a server via a Java applet. Users then access the project, software, and data from the server. Updates and corrections made to the data, allow the maps to be changed dynamically.
The resulting maps offer true interactivity, as opposed to the static images or PDFs usually used for such purposes. Users can explore and edit them, reviewing thematic data in a multi-sortable table. They can change features such as thematic ranges, colours, add a legend, pan and zoom, switch labels and geometry on/off, and highlight aspects and areas of interest. They can then save these locally, or publish them to the server to collaborate with other users across the network. Maps can be printed, with preview and page setup, to any standard printer.
